“Hi mom,” I said, “it’s me, Doug.”
“Oh, hi baby,” my mother said. Then she continued by asking, “So how was your day today with your aunt and cousin Eli?”
“It was great,” I told her, “Head a good time with the kids.” We continued to chat a little. My mom wanted to know if I’d stay over at my aunt’s house instead of going home, which might work out anyway since she wanted me to help her move around Eli’s bedroom furniture.
