This all started when I was 7yrs old 70yrs ago I lived in the North East of England near Newcastle .I was evacuated out into the country away from the bombing raids to a place near Bishop Auckland onto a small farm a few cows 2 horses about a dozen pigs geese poultry ducks .The farmer we will call Mr Smith worked at a pit all day and did the farm work be for and after work his wife worked part of the day there as well .I soon started to do a few jobs round the farm as I only did half a day at school every day as it was so small, later as the evacuees went home we started 9 till 3 as I was there for two years as my mother took a job as a maid in a big house and I could not join her and my younger sister .
